Beginning May 13th MMA Pacific Street will be open Thursdays through Saturdays at 25% capacity through timed ticketing and enhanced safety protocols.
After a year of closure due to the COVID 19 health crisis the Monterey Museum of Art has been authorized by the State of California to reopen at 25% of our visitor capacity at our Pacific Street location. While planning for our re-opening has been ongoing, we now need to finish installation of required safety measures, hire and train visitor-facing staff, and ensure that all of our exhibitions for the Spring season are ready for the public’s enjoyment. We appreciate your patience as we complete this work and look forward to welcoming you back.
MMA will officially reopen to the public on Thursday, May 13 with a members-only weekend to celebrate the opening of our summer exhibitions “Color Duets: Kaffe Fassett and Erin Lee Gafill” and “Transformations: Photography by William Giles”. We will be instituting the following safety protocols for the well-being of our visitors and our staff:
- Mask and physical distancing requirements
- Contactless timed entry (tickets available at montereyart.org and required in advance)
- Hand sanitizer stations
- Limited visitor capacity (25%)
- Early access for MMA members
Please check our website at montereyart.org for developing information on our reopening plans including when tickets will be available.
