Most of Hansen-€™s work focuses on the fishermen of Monterey, however he was also intrigued with the cowboy culture of the West. His father, a painter of the old West and frontier life, was Hansen-€™s first art instructor. With the foreground in shadow, our eye is drawn directly to the dynamic scene beyond.
