The Hansen's settled in Monterey, building a home/studio next door to artist Julian Greenwell on El Dorado Street. (See Greenwell-s Untitled, Cass Street Landscape, 1940 showing the neighborhood.) Hansen's large landscape, with its unsettled clouds tumbling over the quiet farm scene, echoes the subject and feel of Margaret Bruton-s Barns on Cass Street, 1925.
