People’s Pic Contest

The MMA People’s Pic Contest is an extension of Weston Collective’s scholarship program honoring local high school and college photographers. In an effort to expand the program, the Monterey Museum of Art is offering the general public the opportunity to vote for their favorite photograph – the “People’s Pic.” Students who entered photography portfolios into the Weston Scholarship Photography Competition have been automatically entered into the People’s Pic Contest.

Voting
Anyone can vote for their favorite photograph online here, in person at the museum, or via social media (details below). One point each will be given for votes online, on Facebook and on Twitter, and three points will be counted for a vote in-person at MMA.

Online: Vote below by clicking on your favorite photo and then selecting the blue vote button. Then share your pick on social media for up to two additional votes (one additional vote each for Facebook and Twitter).

In-person: Vote in-person at the MMA front desk or on the comment wall by the exhibition at Pacific Street.

Facebook: Vote on Facebook by liking the Monterey Museum of Art Facebook page AND announcing your selection on your Facebook wall using the hashtag #MMAPeoplesPic.

Twitter: Vote on Twitter by following @montereyart AND using your personal handle to announce our selection along with the hashtag #MMAPeoplesPic.

Deadline for voting is August 25 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.

Prizes and Ceremony
The winner of the People’s Pic will be announced August 29 from 5-7 p.m. He/she will receive a 20×30 premier print of his/her choice from Monterey Bay Photo Lab (retail value of $235).  The event will include hors d’oeuvres, beverages, music, giveaways, a photography workshop and a presentation from the Weston Collective. Please come out in support of our local student photographers!
