2013 Annual Fund

Dear Friend,

The Monterey Museum of Art’s vibrant exhibitions and its distinguished collections are at the heart of what we do. Thanks to your generosity and continued support we have been able to offer highly acclaimed special exhibitions such as the dynamic In Process—Andrew Schoultz and the powerful Return to the Sea—Saltworks by Motoi Yamamoto.

Each year, we ask our members and supporters of the Museum to consider making a year-end gift. Your donation to the Annual Fund is essential and helps us continue to connect people with art through our exhibitions, collections, and programs. MMA is on the road to a new and exciting future, building momentum for long-term sustainability. We would be honored to have your support as we celebrate our impressive legacy and explore innovative new possibilities.

The Museum is delighted to present the annual exhibition, Miniatures, featuring 300 works by regional Monterey artists, all of whom are members of the Museum. This exhibition, as well as Monterey Now: David Ligare, is on view at our Pacific Street location. The Museum is free to all until December 31, when Miniatures closes, and all events are open to the public.

Ringing in the New Year, upcoming exhibitions include Extraordinary People: Portraits by Yousuf Karsh and Ansel Adams: Visions of Grandeur. Karsh is celebrated for photographing the most influential people of the Twentieth Century. The exhibition of works by legendary California photographer and conservationist Ansel Adams includes selections from the Museum Set portfolio. Both exhibitions will run from January 15–March 30, 2014 at MMA La Mirada. At our Pacific Street location, the Museum will also celebrate local photographer Bob Kolbrener, and will include an eclectic display of photographs from his 50-year career that include extraordinary land and seascapes of Monterey and the Western United States.

Please consider making a gift to the Monterey Museum of Art today. Your tax-deductible contribution, made before December 31, will enable us to continue to advance our mission. Thank you for investing in engaging and transformative art experiences for all. I hope to see you soon at the Museum.

With sincere gratitude,

Charlotte Eyerman
